SoundID VoiceAI Release Notes

Release notes for 1.4.1

Date of release: 25 July 2024

This feature update adds new presets and includes built-in preset suggestions and general feedback forms.

Improvements and bug fixes

Added “Samuel” vocal preset.

Added “Upright bass” creative preset.

Added built-in feedback form for suggesting a new preset.

Added a built-in feedback form for general app evaluation.

Reorganized the order of presets based on user feedback.

Fixed an issue where the plugin would sometimes freeze during a DAW session with multiple instances of it on startup.

Fixed some other minor issues.

Known Issues

The processing progress bar may get stuck at 79 percent for a few seconds, then continue moving.

If complete silence is present in the capture, the processed audio will contain some amount of noise with artifacts. If the background noise in the silence is noticeable, it is recommended to capture only where there is an audio signal and not to capture complete silence.

In Logic, if input monitoring is not active on the track, after 5 seconds of silence, capture will stop and be corrupted, and also the preview buttons will become unresponsive. To prevent these problems, it's advised to ensure less than 5 seconds of silence between clips and, for optimal plugin performance, input monitoring is enabled.

In Pro Tools, if Dynamic Plug-In Processing is enabled, the plugin may enter sleep mode after 5 seconds of complete silence, resulting in corrupted captured audio. In addition, this setting can cause preview buttons to become unresponsive after a similar period of silence. To prevent these problems, it's advised to ensure less than 5 seconds of silence between clips and, for optimal plugin performance, to turn off Dynamic Plug-In Processing in Playback Engine settings.

In Logic, after filling out the feedback form, the space bar might not initiate DAW playback until the user clicks on the plugin’s UI.

Release notes for 1.0.1

Date of release: 08 April 2024

We are excited to introduce the first official release of SoundID VoiceAI, the first-of-its-kind DAW plugin that utilizes artificial intelligence to transform the human voice into something entirely different.

SoundID VoiceAI plugin released, formats: VST3, AU, AAX. Compatible with most common DAW's on Windows 10 or later and macOS 11.0 or later.

The plugin can be used by placing it in a DAW (preferably on a vocal track) and logging in with the user's Sonarworks account.

A single plugin instance can record up to 5 minutes of audio to be processed at a time. Multiple instances can be used simultaneously on different tracks. Click “Record” and launch DAW playback to record the audio from the track. The recorded audio fragment can be removed to allow the user to record a new clip.

Once the plugin has recorded audio, it can be processed using one of the presets. At launch, SoundID VoiceAI contains 23 vocal and 21 creative presets.

The presets can be previewed by clicking the “Preview” button which plays back a short sample of the preset.

The presets can be added to “Favorites” by clicking on the heart icon next to the preset name in the preset browser or in the active preset area.

Processing cost is expressed in “tokens”. New users can activate a trial period of 7 days, during which they can use 9000 free tokens (around 15 minutes of audio). Trial can be activated and new tokens can be purchased in the Sonarworks user account on the web.

Once the processing is complete, the user can enable or disable the processed audio to compare the results.

“Transpose” feature allows the user to change the register of the processed audio for more accurate and realistic results. The transpose value should be set before the processing. Users can transpose audio up or down by up to 48 semitones (4 octaves).

The user can see the input audio volume in the VU meters during audio playback.

The user can adjust the processed audio volume with the gain slider. Note that this will not affect the unprocessed audio volume for easier gain matching.

The user can find all recorded and processed audio wav files by clicking the “Browse audio cache folder” in the preferences view of the plugin.

To decouple the processing result from the plugin or to continue editing the processed audio or to just back it up, it is recommended to render the result to a new DAW track.

Compatibility

Plugin is tested and confirmed compatible with the following Digital Audio Workstations:
