Bring your trusted studio sound with you

SoundID Reference Virtual Monitoring PRO takes headphone mixing to a new level of realism. It recreates the exact sound of your studio on your headphones with such precision that even experienced engineers struggle to tell the difference.

Using a purpose-built USB SoundID binaural in-ear measurement microphone and a guided measurement process, it captures how your room and speakers sound from your own ears. The result is a one-of-a-kind acoustic profile that lets you mix anywhere with the same confidence as in your studio.

Person measuring studio sound using SoundID Reference Virtual Monitoring PRO software and in-ear binaural microphone, with speakers and computer setup in a recording studio environment.

Why Virtual Monitoring PRO changes the game

Most creators prefer mixing on speakers for spatial accuracy and the emotional connection of a real room. But late-night sessions, travel, and limited studio time often force compromises.

Virtual Monitoring PRO removes those limits. It lets you accurately reproduce your studio sound on any pair of over-ear headphones, so your reference environment travels with you.
Whether you are on the road, working quietly at night, or between studio spaces, your mixes translate exactly the way you expect.

With Virtual Monitoring PRO you can

  • Recreate your own studio sound on your headphones
  • Capture your client’s or mentor’s room for remote collaboration
  • Copy environments you trust, like your car, for mix checks
  • Load your profiles directly in SoundID Reference, plugin, or systemwide app

How it works: from room to headphones in four steps

Virtual Monitoring PRO combines advanced DSP with a physical measurement process that captures how your speakers and room interact with your unique hearing. Here’s how it works.

1. Get Virtual Monitoring PRO
Purchase or pre-order the package, which includes a license for the software and a binaural in-ear measurement microphone that connects to your computer via USB.

2. Prepare your setup
Set up in the space you want to measure – a studio, a client’s room, or even a car. You’ll need:

  • Over-ear headphones (the same pair you’ll use for playback)
  • Access to your stereo speaker system
  • An audio interface with separate outputs for speakers and headphones
  • A Windows 11 or macOS 11 computer with the Virtual Monitoring PRO license activated

The measurement uses a 44.1 kHz sample rate to ensure phase-accurate capture of your room.

3. Capture your space
Connect the binaural in-ear microphone, follow the on-screen instructions, and let the software play a series of test tones and sweeps through your speakers. The system records how the sound reaches your ears, mapping your personal head-related response.
This process takes around fifteen minutes and must be done in person in the room you wish to capture. Each result is personal and cannot be shared with other users.

4. Apply and mix anywhere
Load your room profile into SoundID Reference — either as a plugin in your DAW or systemwide. Your headphones now reproduce the same spatial cues, balance, and tonal behavior as your studio. You can work anywhere, confident that what you hear will translate perfectly.

Playback supports all sample rates from 44.1 kHz up to 196 kHz, with near-zero added latency in the plugin and under 20 ms systemwide.

Frequently Asked Questions about Virtual Monitoring PRO

How does the pre-sale work?

The pre-sale runs from October 21 to November 11, 2025. During this period, you can pre-order Virtual Monitoring PRO at a 30% discount. Quantities are limited, and the product will not be discounted again.

How is Virtual Monitoring PRO different from other virtual-monitoring plugins?

Most virtual-monitoring tools simulate famous studios or generic spaces. Virtual Monitoring PRO instead measures your actual room, speakers, and hearing, creating a completely personal acoustic profile. This makes the headphone mix sound like your studio, not an approximation of someone else’s.

Do I need to be in the room to measure my profile?

Yes, you need physical access to the room or environment you want to capture. The in-ear binaural microphone measures sound from your exact ear position, so the process must be done in person. We are exploring ways to expand the roadmap for more flexible and remote capture options based on user requests.
