Term: Target Curve

« Back to Glossary Index

The frequency response of a speaker system in a given room. Speakers are calibrated to match a target curve to ensure that music produced on that system will translate with predictable results to the widest audience. There are a few target curves that are used as standard references to ensure a flat monitor environment. These include the Harman Curve, the B&K curve, the Dolby Atmos Music curve, and Sonarworks’ proprietary curve.
