Sonarworks, the creator of industry leading SoundID Reference speaker and headphone calibration software, collaborates with Dolby to deliver a better headphone monitoring experience to Dolby Atmos® creators.
The upcoming Sonarworks SoundID Reference Tools mobile app, available soon on iOS and Android mobile app stores, will enable the creation of a personalized Dolby Atmos headphone profile. The profile creation will be free of charge.
The app captures imagery of users’ head, ears, and shoulders via the phone’s camera, then leverages Dolby technology to create a personalized profile file that is compatible with Dolby Atmos creation tools.
The file created by the mobile app can be loaded into the Dolby Atmos Renderer or compatible DAW. Monitoring with a Dolby Atmos personalized profile can improve spatial and timbral accuracy of Dolby Atmos headphone mixes, allowing a more accurate and consistent monitoring experience.
Dolby and Sonarworks are working together closely to ensure that the SoundID Reference Tools app conforms to Dolby’s standards and is compatible with the full ecosystem of professional Dolby Atmos content creation tools.
Support for Dolby Atmos personalization will be rolling out in DAWs supporting Dolby Atmos creation workflows soon.
