Term: RT60

« Back to Glossary Index

RT60 is commonly used to describe the length of a reverb tail in acoustic space or from a digital reverb. The time it takes from when a sound source stops until the reverberation in a room drops by 60 dB SPL. This 60 dB range models the sound pressure level of a loud orchestra (100 dBSPL) down to the background noise floor of a typical auditorium (40 dBSPL).
