An audio soundfield that is created by several speakers that surround the listener, including height channels. immersive audio formats can be channel‑based (5.1 and 7.1) or object‑based (Atmos or Sony 360 RA). Object-based audio is encoded with metadata so that audio channels or elements are played back from specific locations in 3-D space, regardless of a room’s physical size and the number of speakers.
