IMPORTANT! The calibration profile export feature is not available for trial licenses!

With the release of SoundID Reference for Multichannel, we are expanding a range of devices that support SoundID Reference exported profiles. Once you have measured your multichannel speaker setup, you can export the calibration profile for supported hardware. In this guide, we will cover the export process.

Exporting the calibration profiles

Once you have measured your speakers, the calibration profile can be exported for supported hardware. Simply use the preset menu to export preset for your supported device in the SoundID Reference standalone app.

Supported Devices

SoundID Reference app will provide you with a list of supported devices, simply select the device you own to proceed. The following devices are being supported:

• Merging Technologies (multichannel support coming soon)
• Jones-Scanlon Studio Monitors
• AVID MTRX Studio
• Setting up on AVID/DADman MTRX family interfaces with SPQ card
• Dolby Atmos Renderer Mastering Suite
• Subpac X1 (coming soon)

Export File location

The SoundID Reference will save your exported files to a dedicated directory, the location can be changed by clicking on the 'Browse' button if you need to change the location.

Default locations:

• macOS:/Users/your username/Library/Sonarworks/SoundID Reference/Sonarworks Projects/Exported Presets/selected device name
• Windows: C:\Users\your username\AppData\Local\Sonarworks\SoundID Reference\Sonarworks Projects\Exported Presets\selected device name

The export process can take up to 2 minutes, please wait for the process to finish. 

Once the preset has been exported you will be shown a confirmation notification. Please note, by default the SoundID Reference standalone app will disable the calibration to avoid double-calibration. 

The exported calibration profile will include

A successful profile export will generate a .txt file which will include almost all of your assigned settings  (your preset data) with a couple of exceptions that will be handled on the integration device instead:

•  Calibration profile: the selected speaker or headphone correction curve data
•  Dry/Wet: the level of calibration applied
•  Target curve: the selected target mode, with all of your custom settings applied
•  Safe Headroom: the upper limit of the output gain that prevents clipping
•  Listening Spot (speaker profiles only): volume and timing differences measured between speakers
•  Limit Controls (speaker profiles only): frequency range affected by calibration
